I think you guys push more to dealers to really help them grow than anybody else does in the market that I’ve worked with.

Freeus dealer Matt Newton’s family business, Alert Response, LLC, has been around for 25 years, after Newton’s father started the business out of their living room in 1991.

Newton, his brother and their father now serve about 5,000 customers throughout Colorado, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas, providing medical alert systems and medication management devices.

Searching for the right mobile PERS device

Before the company began offering the Belle emergency alert pendant from Freeus to their customers, Newton and his family struggled with other mobile PERS products.

“Battery life and cellular reliability were always just the biggest challenges we faced,” said Newton. “The first devices we had, you had to charge them basically every 24-48 hours. And the charging devices were always just difficult.”

They also had trouble finding high quality products that were affordable and reliable for both their government and private-pay customers.

Finding solutions with the Belle mobile medical alert

But providing Belle for their customers changed all of that.

“Once we were able to use Belle with its AT&T SIM card in our area, it really opened the door for having a lot more reliability,” Newton said.

Charging Belle is also simpler than other products, and its market-leading 30-day battery life is a game-changer.

“One of the things with Belle that we really like is the fact that it drops into the cradle,” Newton shared. “Belle has made it so easy to charge, and its battery is long-lasting. It’s just made life a lot easier for us and the end users.”

Belle also offers a cost-effective solution for all types of customers, which has led to growth for Alert Response, LLC.

“Belle has really taken affordability and reliability and combined them together to where it’s actually a product we can use and the folks in the office like to push, and that we can use for any and all types of clients, whether they are a government client where reimbursement is a little less, or they’re a private pay client,” Newton said. “It’s combined the reliability and affordability of a mobile unit that we were looking for.”

“We do a lot of government business, which is going to be a little lower reimbursement,” Newton shared. “In a lot of cases, we would lose clients, because at the rate we were paying for other mobile devices, we weren’t able to afford to put a mobile PERS device in for a government client. But now we are able to, because of the affordability of the Belle device.”

Company nearly doubles subscribers in 6 months

Customer feedback about Belle has been positive, Newton noted.

“They like the operator on the other end, they like the look, they like the mobility,” he said. “Belle’s been out for 6-8 months now, and we’ve had very few, if any, issues.”

The number of Alert Response, LLC, customers has nearly doubled in the last 6 months.

“We are very proud of the growth we have seen from Alert Response, LLC,” said Brock Winzeler, Freeus general manager. “We are excited about their positive feedback about Belle and how well their customers have received it, and we are pleased that our other dealers and their customers have had similar reactions to Belle. We look forward to continuing to provide high quality, affordable products that offer peace of mind.”

Working with Freeus

Newton has also found it very easy to work with Freeus as an mPERS supplier.

“I like working with Freeus,” he said. “Natasha Holder [dealer care representative] was always good with customer service and really helping out.”

Freeus also offers its dealers complimentary customized marketing materials, including brochures, ads, and videos. Newton notes that those items in particular are very helpful for dealers.

“I think you guys push more to dealers to really help them grow than anybody else does in the market that I’ve worked with,” he said. “It’s always nice to have that extension of your business be there for you and save you a little marketing and development dollars.”

Newton continues to choose Freeus as a supplier because of the quality of the devices and their affordability.

“Other devices out there are dirt cheap, and I’m never going to be able to compete with some of those prices, but I can compete with a much higher quality for not that much more money,” he said.

“I’m pretty happy with they way that you guys have grown your business. It makes me excited for the next stage of Freeus!”
